I know it may seem strange, but… I often find that my most positive research comes from taking notes in active forums in a niche.. in forums you will quite often find people in their comfort zone, deep in discussion about their niche problems/wants/needs and desires. It really pays to associate with your target market.
I can’t stress enough the need to really get in touch with the folks that you are or are going to be selling to in the marketplace, what you will often find is that keywords are abundant in forums due to the fact that the people in your target market ask the same questions between each other as they will in the search engines…which gives you a picture of what they are looking for.
Take the make money online niche as an example, if you are looking to create a product for this niche, then places like the warrior forum and digital point are prime research points for you to gather information on potential products. If people are repeatedly asking questions about an issue and you could somehow create a product that would either a) answer the question for them, or b) solve the problem entirely.. then you are onto a winner. but this isn’t the only aim of using forums for research, one of the great benefits to it is:
Knowing HOW to say what you want to say to your target market is much of the struggle covered.. because you could be telling them exactly what they want, but unless you are putting it in their terms they just wouldn’t get it, which would result in the message being lost and wasted for you.
Association is key here, not only getting stuck deep into a niche, but learning from them on a day to day regular basis will allow you to blend into the way things are/work. Certain phrases, terminology, slang and all other language associations that you can make by hanging with your target market in their own territory so to speak. Sometimes as affiliate’s we often get hung up on keywords generated from tools and statistics, facts and figures etc…when really the secret/key is just getting down and dirty with the people who you will be selling to..
