As an affiliate..your primary aim is to generate relevant, targeted and for it to be a worthwhile investment of either your time or your money…whichever you choose to invest. Here are 10 tried and tested, proven ways you can drive quality traffic to your affiliate offers and greatly increase your income, or opportunity to earn:

E-Mail Marketing:

As I have said before..you have to be careful with e-mail marketing and be sure that the recipients have expressed a solid interest in what you have to offer.. either via your own opt-in form or that of a close business partner of yours.. e-mail list’s are not worth the money and youcould get yourself in hot water trying to use them.

You have various options with this strategy.. you can provide an e-mail each time that is jam packed with content and insert any links where necessary to your site’s.. or broadcast to subscribers and tell them that you have fresh content at your site or a web based newsletter ready each time.  Always use a signature link too for increased visibility.


Article Marketing:

Informative, educational and descriptive articles will always pull good traffic, a captivating headline and good use of words with advice and an explanation of points goes over really well with people looking for “how-to” information on a topic.

Newsletters and e-zines:

People love information,they will literally beg you for more if you share plenty on a topic and provide value. I certainly love reading fishing mags and newsletters..because fishing is an interest of mine – which explains why targeted methods to drive traffic to affiliate marketing sites work best…if I see a cool link in a fishing ezine..I usually head over there to see what’s on offer.

Blogs/ Blogging:

Using a site other than your main site is a fantastic strategy for traffic generation to your main sales page, blogs are much more personal than main site’s and can allow you to showcase your personality and knowledge in a niche.  Blogs are considerably more personal and lighter in tone than most affiliate business sites and they can be a great source of information, news, advice and tips from you to your prospects.  Include a link from your blog to your affiliate marketing site.

Social Bookmarking Sites:

Social bookmarking has to be one of the hottest activity on the web right now.. the search engine’s love giving people what they want..and what better wya to do that than with bookmarks of EXACTLY what people like and enjoy reading/buying/and taking part in.

Discussion Forums and Boards:

Otherwise known as “forum marketing”.. it pays to be VERY wary of what you intend to do around the forums, again it comes back to providing value in what you do, getting involved in the communityand be aware that you should NOT be there simply for traffic generation, it is just a cool by-product of taking part in an active niche community.

Guest Blogging:

If you can write for yourself on your own bog and in your article marketing.. then for sure you can guest blog on a fellow blogger’s niche site and feel the benefit of having a backlink from your guest post to your site, if captured traffic from that site enjoy what you have to share.. they are bound to check you out and you may just find yourself with a few new subscribers.

Allow Bookmarks On Your Web Pages:

Good content pages always get bookmarked when people are in a hurry, so allowing this shows that you care for your readership and ensure’s that they have a quick reference record fo your content for them to read when it is more convenient.

Host A Contest:

Your target market will appreciate a contest of some sort if the prizes are worthy of entry, this allows you to showcase your main website via ads or ezines etc..and gets you signups from your site, you can gather opinions and asess the appeal of what you have to offer whilst opening the offer to potential sales too.

Freebies:

There is no better method of traffic generation in this particular setting than a good ol’ freebie, if you offer a monster of a freebie for sign-ups, you can be sure that word will get around in your niche and set tongue’s wagging for what you have and it become viral.. I’ve done it and seen it done countless hundred’s of times.. society loves free stuff..so use that to get deep into a niche.
