People Don’t WANT e-books, Solutions Is The Dream…

When thinking about sales pages, writing articles, reviews, product analysis…and internet marketing in general.. what I think misses the mark completely is showing the consumer that an e-book is the way forward.

For example.. Eben Pagan’s Double Your Dating e-book has created a multi-million dollar business for him, so it definitely works for the guys that use it..BUT… those same guys probably didn’t set out looking for an e-book, they set out looking for a solution to their problem of overcoming fear of dating and women in general when it came to relationships. I very much doubt that any of them thought that the answer to the question would come in an e-book.

The same with the acne niche, there is an e-book called Mr X Acne Killer, which details definitive steps to overcoming acne issues… again, I very much doubt that acne sufferers came online thinking the solution would come in the form of an e-book.


What our aim is, is showing them that the solution is contained, but without smacking them over the head, caveman style with e-book sales page’s right from the start.. it just smacks of bad marketing.

I want to be clear though, I’m not saying push any old e-book and think that it will sell if you convince, persuade or push the issue. There’s no taking away from the fact that the guide has to be worthwhile, if the e-book doesn’t do exactly what it is supposed to do, then you’ve got bigger problems than just marketing..lol..

BUT what I’m trying to outline here is that you should aim to match your product with a specific problem/issues/need or desire for your target market and then home in on it, instead of just selling an e-book.

It comes back to research and knowing your target market, but whilst I know we have covered that..I am trying to explain why you should see the broader picture.. if you can display to the consumer the true benefits of the product you are showing them, without saying “here’s this e-book that might help ya, buy it here”… then you stand in a much better position, not only of making sales, but also of not having to deal with refunds and issue’s with the product not helping the consumer in the way they need it to.

If you cover the main issues of the target market, and help to show them the product benefits in relation to that without pushing the e-book format, you will fair much better than doing a 3 product review page of e-books..

There is no doubting the quality in some of the e-books on sale out in the marketplace, so if you are certain you have covered the essentials of helping your target market… then your aim is to then get into taking care of the needs, wants and desires of your target market…
