I covered a little in the last post about a few sites you can frequent to keep in the know about up and coming products, emerging markets, hot an popular topics and possible niche’s to get into.
Now, I always recommend at this point that you need to pre-judge nothing… our goal from here is to make a list of potential niche’s that could convert and might be ones to run with, but for now we need a starting base in order to evaluate and work through the process to familiarise yourself with the how… it is an important stage to cover which will carry you through your affiliate career. It is important for you to be able to dig into research to find niche’s and potential hot products, so without further ramblings we shall go forth…
Of the sites I mentioned I will use: Magazines.com for the benefit of this post:
Check out the potential niche’s, highlighted with RED arrows below…
Remember, this is only one single website, form the homepage with about 10 seconds of glancing, and already I have 6 potential niche’s to work with, although I didn’t really pre-judge, I did leave out the intended magazine for kids, we aren’t gonna be trying to sell children here… but… the highlights for children will be purchased by adults so that one is still an option.
If we take this and make the start of a potential niche list we have:
It goes without saying that right now, these potential niche’s are waaaaaaay too broad, right?… so what we need to do is here is dig a little bit for more scope on an avenue to take within these markets, which we would call a sub-niche, I’ll grab one at random…
Fitness… There are sooo many ways to go here, but for a quick analysis, I will say for sure that in fitness there are a few basics, you either want to get fit, build muscle, or lose weight..now there are more but I think I will look at one of these obvious ones here. Lose weight has to be one of the biggest industries on the planet for sure and it would almost be easy to believe that we could never break into this market ahead of all the major corporations etc, but for me in my business this gives me more incentive…there is no such thing as too much competition..it’s all healthy rivalry.
But what our aim is, what we want to achieve is get within this massive market with our own special touch, a bit of unique freshness or a different angle that is very refined and specific, not because it won’t have been targeted before, although it might not have been, but because using this type of tactic allows us to shoot for closer grouped keywords in the search engines, which aren’t as crowded as the broad ones, like lose weight…
The options we have for getting a good search engine ranking for the keywords..lose weight are very limited, so we hit for what are known as longtail keywords(more about that later..lol). But for now I will say adios and back later with more.. finding a niche: part 3 coming soooooooon
