Ask Jamie: 5 Best Monetization Methods

Heya..

I find lately that I get a lot of “Jamie what is your favourite..XYZ in XYZ?”.. so I am gonna drop one list every few weeks into the Ask Jamie category, whilst these aren’t really technical questions, they may get you thinking and show you abit about what I do…..

So.. here’s today’s:

Hi Jamie.. what are your 5 best or most productive methods of monetization, bit just on blogs (you already do a cool series on this), but overall on your sites.. what are your favourite ways to add make money options to your sites?..

Great question. I know that I already do the blog monetization series here, but as you said.. blogs aren’t the only platform so we will talk about all platforms for making money..


1. Affiliate Products - There is no doubt about it that as affiliate marketer’s, our number one option for monetizing a site is with products, we cater for the niche exactly what they are looking for. Fill their needs, wants and desire’s with a worthwhile product and you will have no problem making money.

2. Adsense - A BIG option for good traffic site’s.. if you have either a big readership of visitors, or are driving plenty of traffic to your platform..then you can bet your bottom dollar that Adsense is a good option to fit in, without being obtrusive and is very targeted towards your visitors.

3. Bidvertiser - Very much like Adsense above, independent but VERY targeted and useful. You can structure campaigns with Bidvertiser for different sites and specific pages, making your choice and offerings niche dependent.

4. Ad Sales - If you look up in the top right of this blog page, you will see a block of ads, and whilst some of them on here are my own.. essentially you can sell ad spots on your sites, good traffic sites are worthy of ad sales and can generate more revenue..  the bigger the genuine traffic numbers, the higher the value you can place on your ad placements.

5. Product Creation - You don’t need to be some super expert to create a product for a niche, if you provide quality content and it fills a gap in the niche.. you can be sure it will retail, providing quality content ensures that the consumer is happy and allows you to build a relationship through the value you provide.

Whilst these are some of my favourite methods, they aren’t the only ones… and I could go on and on here.. but I stripped it down to five for this question..
